You sound like another arrogant American who think they are the best at everything. Your team may have won a few games but can they continue to win?

To say that this is another step that will improve USA Hockey's status in the hockey world is mostly likely correct. The naive part isn't so much saying that this will propel the USA near or to the top (they seem to be getting close already), but to assume that the Russias and the Canadas of the world won't also adopt measures like this should it prove successful.

"A rabid supporter of the idea that hockey sense is learned, not innate"

I'm a bit sceptical about this. I would say hockey sense is 85% innate, 15% learned. I don't think it's even worth calling it hockey sense though, sports sense would be better. In my experience people who display hockey sense, also display soccer sense, basketball sense etc. or the other way around.

What a joke you are writing a POS like that. I do not even know who you are but do not ever care to know. You are dillusional and must be on something that cause the brain to malfunction.

Did you really just say the USA will become the become a hockey superpower because of a device called IntelliGym? Sounds like something from an infomercial. If this IntelliGym is such a miracle then it's not too hard for other countries to start using it too.

Tell you what. You guys use all the video games you want, and we'll ice Crosby, Stamkos, Giroux, Tavares, Toews, Getzlaf, Perry, Keith, Doughty, Weber, Price, and about 20 other guys who'd be number one on at their position on your team, and we'll just let everything play itself out.

I agree. Though I might not figure it as high as you maybe in the 70's percent-wise. But for the most part what is also called vision comes from people who also have shown to be creative in other aspects of life.

I do believe that such a program could speed up or sharpen especially those gifted ones to new levels. And the not so gifted(in hockey or game sense) could jump to a plane where they are now looking like a pretty good player creative wise.

I like the idea and concept. I think you could also integrate it into other things as well. You mentioned helmet cameras and that would be a good place to use to teach.

But the ability to slow down things when they are happening at a very rapid pace is left to a minority of the population. In combat everyone I have ever spoken to experiences things slowing down. Most people say they were not thinking about what they were doing. A very few others report on also being to think rapidly and process their environment while interacting,i.e. taking aim, firing all while giving orders. And we trained a lot, over and over and over again.

GO ahead and ice STamkos then let's see if he can score more goals then he allows to be scored while he floats around in the defensive end. Stamkos is one-dimensional.
Giroux is also not the best two way player. Getzlaf has to engage in the game to be any good. Duncan Keith sucks and has trouble with lateral movement.
Doughty is one dimensional hack as well. Weber has a cannon with the aim of a barrel-less gun. Tavares still needs to learn both sides of rink but he's good.

Toews and PRice are very good. But Canada is so arrogant when it comes to hockey. Your paper dragons don't scare anyone.

How was the bronze at the WJC this year? Oh wait you didn't even medal. Did you get stomped by USA even with an NHL regular who was pretty good on the team?

As long as the officiating isn't biased Canada's way most teams would beat them because they come on the ice acting like they need only show up to receive a gold. When again was the last time Canada won a gold medal at the WJC even? It's been a while and all I hear is excuses why they failed to perform and never once could they possibly admit that they lost to better teams. BUt I'm glad t hat your whole program has such skewed vision of reality. It makes it that much easier to watch them choke year after year.

Prediction--Sochi --- Russia, Sweden, USA and Canada fails to medal. BOOM! That just happened. What's funny to me is how many kids from my high school have played in the NHL and for nearly twenty years now we no longer enjoy weeks of pond hockey. You can build a rink in your backyard or skate for four to five months out of the year. I hope to god you would be better at it. But yet there are many AMericans from places without that who are out performing Canadian kids. hmmmmm

If I was USA hockey, I'd be looking forward to the Canadian bloodlines leaking into their system. Broduers, Borque, etc..

You are just adorable.

Team Canada's 4th line and 3rd defense pairing would both be #1 on Team USA.

By the way, Stamkos' floating isn't much of an issue with Shea Weber eating souls in the back end. All he needs to do is unleash the NHL's best one-timer from the circle whenever Crosby puts the puck on his stick, which is f**king always.

Don't care if it's a blowout or OT. All that matters the color of the medal around their necks by game's end.

yeah but you make it sound like Canada is going to and has been destroying us. it's not the case at all.

and look at the WJC. USA, gold. Canada, 4th.

I don't even have to read this article or any of the comments to know that it is all wrong. Canada>USA in hockey is as guaranteed as the sun rising, the earth spinning, and rain in Vancouver.
